kinda belly button-ish, but they are easy to get parts for, and fairly inexpensive to do.
be a good one to start on. The Great Longbowlio has spoken.

Go for it. Any project is going to need parts/repairs and cost you time/money/elbow grease. It's part of the fun. I'm thinking of getting a pre '74 El Camino project so it'd be a fun weekend car and backup for work. It's fun ordering parts and ripping out that old interior/tinkering under the hood, etc.

no one can teach you EVERYTHING.....
You join a Mustang Club in your area, make freinds with all the Club members, and draw on their knowledge to help you. You should do this before even buying the car, so they can help you make the mistake of buying a "basket case" car and getting wayyy over your head with work required to restore and of course much $$$$$ Mach1steve |

Yeah, a '66 'Stang would be a great project. They're relatively simple to work on and parts are way easy to come by. It's been said that anything you need to restore an early 'Stang is available new from a catalog. That might be a bit of an exaggeration, but not much. There are endless suppliers offering good reproduction parts for those cars.
Except for a few certain models (fastbacks and Shelbys mainly) 1964-66 Mustangs are still relatively affordable. And there's so many of them that you don't have to wait forever to find a decent one. Good luck with your project! Dave [link=http://www.autiv.com/articles/drive_test_mustang_gt_1.htm]www.autiv.com/articles/drive_test_mustang_gt_1.htm[/link] |
