I have a 2000 Ford Escort Zx2 with a blown relay control computer, the dealership wants 450 to replace it, the part is around 200 dollars.
I would like to know if there are any how-to's on how to get to the part and replace it. |

Are you confident in their diagnosis?
If they are looking at $250 in labour this must be a pretty labour intensive job. The manual I've got doesn't list that as a part. Must be pretty specialized. What are the details on the car's behaviour? |

Apparently, the AC compressor power relay sticks, and the relay is good, already been replaced.
If you drive the car around and turn the A/C on, the compressor will never shut off, and in a little bit, the car spews out refrigerant in a cloud of white smoke. The part is actually the constant control relay module. |
