A new wiring system as in an aftermarket radio? Or a new Ford radio in an older car? Most radios in the older cars will connect unless you are trying to put a deluxe stereo unit in a car equipped with a standard sound system. The Ford deluxe sound system (the exact name they use escapes me right now) has a seperate audio amplifier located under the drivers seat, the trunk or elsewhere in the car. The 2 systems are not interchangeble. But if you are putting an aftermarket radio in the car, splice the original connector back on, go to Radio Shack or another audio store, and buy the adapters that are made to easily snap your stereo into your car with no wires to splice. The adapters consist of a harness that plugs into your car and another harness that plugs into the back of your radio. Each of the harnesses have a connector that join them together to make one adapter harness. The only information you will need is the model number of your stereo and the make model & year of you car.
