I have a 1990 Tempo that I recently bought used. I had it fixed up enough to pass the clean driving requirements in Ontario, fixed up a leak in the ATF a little later.
I'm pretty much a total novice when it comes to cars.
The performance has gotten worse since I bought it. It has problems getting up to speed while heading up a hill or even just after a red light on flat land.
I'm afraid to take it into a garage just to see why it's not going as fast as usual. It gets me around fine. Is there something I should be concerned with? Is there something I can do on my own (with no mechanical background)?
Also, just wondering about winterization. I heard that people "plug in" their cars in Ontario in winter. What's that all about? Is it necessary? I've heard that antifreeze needs some sort of ratio of 50:50 with water. I don't even know where the anti-freeze is, let alone how to make sure it's half and half.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
