Ford calls its new 2005 Ford Freestyle a crossover vehicle, but let's recognize it for what it is - a butched up station wagon version of the new 2005 Ford Five Hundred sedan. But don't think that labeling the Freestyle a wagon is some kind of slam, because this appears to be one handy utility vehicle that doesn't give up comfort, ride or handling to accommodate those weekend trips to Home Depot.

We had to replace our transmission recently at 1500 miles and just over a month old. Anyone else having trans problems. Also is anyone having trouble with a very disturbing noise when the rear windows are open. This harmonic noise has made us sick, and even has caused major ear aches. Your ears feel like they are going to explode. Does anyone know what this is and if Ford is aware of the problem. We are going to contact the consumer products safty commision but are curious if this problem is...

We bought a new 05 Freestyle Limited about a month ago now and I tell you.....ZERO COMPLAINTS. Ok.....maybe one minor one: the seat heater doesn't stay on as long as i would like...i keep having to turn it back on. This vehicle is awesome. I live in Central Oregon. For those of you not familiar with the area we get some pretty harsh winters here. The vehicle handles superbly in the snow and ice. The AWD and traction control combined with the CVT transmission make this vehicle a pleasure...

freestyle FX

Despite Fords fevered attempts to classify the Freestyle FX concept as a vehicle that cant be pigeonholed, in its fully extended roofline form, the vehicle looks like Dearborns take on an Audi allroad. Alloy trim along the roof and rockers, and ersatz skid plates front and rear complete the look. Of course, retract the rear roof section into the body, and the Freestyle FX looks like...
